How to Survive and Recover from Ransomware Attacks
Are you prepared to recover from a ransomware attack? Cybercriminals love nothing more than infiltrating a network, accessing your data, and encrypting it so you can no longer access this data until a ransom is paid. Data Protection is your last line of defense when it comes to ransomware attacks; you need to ensure your data protection fortress is ransomware recovery ready. Catalogic can assist you in reviewing your backup strategy and what you need to do to prepare to quickly recover from a ransomware attack with Catalogic DPX.
Tips and Tricks – The 3-2-1 Backup Rule Enhanced
To ensure your DPX backups are available to recover your data, your organization should use the time honored 3-2-1 backup rule. This strategy for data protection states that your business should have at least three (3) copies of your data, on two (2) different storage media types, with one (1) of the copies offsite or air gapped in the cloud. Without backups to recover from and the offsite copy that ransomware cannot reach, you may be forced to pay the ransom to get your data back. Further, you need to have at least one backup copy that is verified as not crypto-locked or corrupted that you know you can recover from. Therefore, the rule is enhanced to: 3 copies, 2 media types, 1 offsite, and 1 verified recoverable. Catalogic DPX is the perfect product to enable the 3-2-1-1 rule and we are ready and able to assist you.
