CloudCasa Is Making It Easy To Use Velero | Ryan Kaw At KubeCon+CloudNativeCon
Ryan Kaw, Vice President of Global Sales at CloudCasa by Catalogic, joined us at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon EU to deep dive into the availability of CloudCasa for Velero, which addresses problems around multi-cluster management, alerting and reporting, and provides enhanced recovery capabilities through a new user interface. CloudCasa recognizes that a lot of people are already using Velero in their environments, so the company decided to meet them where they are. The solution is compatible and complementary to Velero and the integration is non-disruptive.
Key highlights of this video interview:
- Many visitors to the CloudCasa booth are using Velero in their environment today. They were excited to learn about the new UI that provides a single pane of glass to manage, monitor, and restore Velero backups across multiple clusters and clouds. It essentially allows users to run Velero at enterprise scale.
- It is quick and easy to set up and deploy. CloudCasa effectively installs a small agent onto their clusters to catalog Velero recovery points and configurations, including settings, backup definitions, and schedules. It can identify all the backups the users are currently doing, see their whole history, and give them a compliance dashboard to show what is being protected and what isn’t.
- It also gives the end user the self-service capabilities that they need. Because it has role-based access control, a specific team that uses specific clusters can do their own restores.
- CloudCasa for Velero is free for the first 15 worker nodes. If you want support for those first 15 worker nodes, it is $199 a month, and then $19 for each additional worker node after that.
