Air-gapped tape for the ultimate safe copy
When data has to survive a ransomware attack that reaches the network, tape is hard to beat. DPX treats tape as a versatile, long-term archival destination with built-in media management for retention and recycling. Tape libraries connect directly by SAS or Fibre Channel, over a SAN, or through NDMP-enabled NAS, and LTO drives support hardware encryption. Finished tapes can be stored offline, creating a physical air gap and preserving a clean copy outside the network attack path.
Retention that manages itself

- Each backup and archive job carries its own retention period, so different data can be kept for different lengths of time.
