We do not sell the information you provide about yourself. We use it to respond to your requests and to keep you informed about our products and services or upcoming events, and we share it only with the service providers and partners who help us do that. If you decide that you do not wish to receive such communications from us, please ask us to remove your name from our list by clicking the remove link on the e-mail you received or by notifying us of your wishes via e-mail or via postal mail at our headquarter office in New Jersey.

Catalogic Software respects the privacy of our visitors and customers. We recognize the need for protecting appropriate personal information that you provide to us. Catalogic has therefore established this Privacy Policy to assist you to understand what information we collect and how that information is used.

Who is responsible for your personal information

What personal information does Catalogic collect?

Personal information is information that can be used to identify or contact a specific individual, such as a name, address and email address. You do not need to provide personal information in order to browse our web sites. If you accept marketing cookies, our vendors and their data partners may associate your visit with personal information they already hold about you, including your name, business email address and professional profile, and may make that information available to us. The section on cookies and website visitor identification below explains this, and how to opt out.

On Catalogic’s web sites you can request information about our technology and services, subscribe to marketing or support materials, and register to obtain access to product information, support, and services. The types of personal information you provide to us on our web site may include names, employer, addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses and passwords.

How does Catalogic use personal information?

Catalogic will use personal information to provide customers and visitors with information and services and to help us better understand your needs and interests. Specifically, we use your information to communicate with you and to develop and market products and services. Catalogic does not sell or rent your personal information. While we may provide partners with your personal information in order to assist with marketing or other programs for your benefit, use of your personal information is limited to Catalogic related activities.

How do I refrain from providing personal information?

Catalogic does not require that you provide us with personal information. The decision to provide personal information is voluntary. If you do not wish to provide the personal information requested, however, you may not be able to proceed with the activity or receive the benefit for which the personal information is being requested.

In addition, you can opt out of receiving e-mail messages from us about products and services by clicking the unsubscribe link provided in the email or, if not available, contacting us. Please provide sufficient detail in the message for us to process your request to unsubscribe from a particular mailing.

How does Catalogic secure my personal information?

Catalogic is committed to taking reasonable efforts to secure the personal information you choose to provide us. To protect the privacy of any personal information you may have provided, Catalogic and its partners employ industry-standard controls including physical access controls and Internet firewalls.

Does Catalogic use “cookies” on its web site?

Catalogic does use “cookies” on its web sites. Cookies are identifiers that can be sent from a web site via your browser to be placed on your computer’s hard drive. Thereafter when you visit a web site, a message is sent back to the web server by the browser accessing the web site. You may elect not to accept cookies by changing the designated settings on your web browser. However, not utilizing cookies may prevent you from using certain functions and features of web sites. The information collected from the use of cookies is used and analyzed to improve Catalogic’s web site. Catalogic uses the information collected from the “cookies” to collect the pages visited, navigation patterns, etc. of a visitor. This information helps us answer questions such as, “What product information is of most interest to our customers?” and “What kind of offers do our customers prefer?”

Some of the cookies and similar technologies on our web sites are set by third parties for analytics and marketing purposes rather than by Catalogic. Our cookie banner groups these into categories, and you choose which categories to accept when you first visit. You can change or withdraw that choice at any time through the same banner.

On what legal basis do we process personal information?

For visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, we process personal information on the following bases.

  • Your consent. Marketing cookies, analytics cookies, the website visitor identification described above, and marketing e-mail where consent is required. You can withdraw consent at any time, through our cookie banner for cookies and technologies, and through the unsubscribe link or by contacting us for e-mail.
  • Performance of a contract, or steps taken at your request before entering one. Responding to your enquiries, providing product information, support, trials and services, and managing your account.
  • Our legitimate interests. Keeping our web sites and forms secure, preventing spam and abuse, maintaining server logs, and understanding which of our products and services are of interest so that we can improve them. We balance these interests against your rights, and you can object as described below.
  • Compliance with a legal obligation. Keeping records we are required to keep, and responding to lawful requests from authorities.

How long do we keep personal information?

We keep personal information for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, and then delete it or remove its connection to you. How long that is depends on the purpose: enquiry and marketing records are kept while the relationship is active and for a reasonable period afterwards, records we must retain for legal, tax or accounting reasons are kept for the period the law requires, and cookie and visitor identification data is kept for the period set by the relevant technology or vendor.

Where is personal information processed?

Catalogic Software is based in the United States, and we also operate in Germany, Poland, India and Singapore. If you contact us or visit our web sites from outside the United States, your personal information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and in the other countries where we or our service providers operate. Where personal information is transferred out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we take steps intended to give it a level of protection comparable to the protection it has under European law.

Your rights in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom

If the data protection law of the EEA or the UK applies to you, you have the right to:

  • ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, and for a copy of it;
  • ask us to correct personal information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your personal information;
  • ask us to restrict how we use your personal information;
  • receive your personal information in a portable form, or have it sent to another organisation, where that right applies;
  • object to processing that is based on our legitimate interests, and to object at any time to processing for direct marketing; and
  • withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already took place.

You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority, in the country where you live or work or where you believe the problem occurred. We would appreciate the chance to address your concern first.

Your rights in California

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, gives you the rights set out below. The personal information we collect, where it comes from, why we use it, and who we disclose it to are described throughout this Privacy Policy.

The categories of personal information we collect are: identifiers, such as your name, e-mail address, postal address, telephone number, employer, IP address and cookie or device identifiers; professional or employment information, such as your job title, seniority and department; commercial information, such as the products and services you have asked us about or downloaded; internet activity, such as the pages you visit and how you navigate our web sites; approximate location derived from your IP address; and, where you register for an account, account credentials. Account credentials are treated as sensitive personal information, and we use them only to give you access to what you registered for.

We collect this information from you directly, automatically from your device when you use our web sites, and from our marketing data partners as described in the section on cookies and website visitor identification. We disclose personal information for business purposes to service providers who host our web sites, process our forms, send our e-mail, manage our customer records, provide analytics and protect our forms from spam, and to the partners and resellers described above.

You have the right to:

  • know what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it and who we disclosed it to;
  • receive a copy of that personal information;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate personal information;
  • ask us to delete personal information we collected from you;
  • opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information;
  • limit our use and disclosure of sensitive personal information; and
  • not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. The advertising and website visitor identification technologies described in this Privacy Policy may amount to sharing or selling personal information as the CCPA defines those terms. To opt out, decline the marketing category in our cookie banner, and use the opt-out links in the section on cookies and website visitor identification.

To exercise any of these rights, contact info@catalogicsoftware.com. We will confirm we received your request within 10 business days and respond within 45 days, and will tell you if we need longer. We will ask for enough information to verify who you are before we act on a request. An authorised agent may make a request on your behalf, and we will ask for proof that you authorised them.
