Independent Backup for DataCore Swarm

DataCore Swarm protects data at the storage layer with Object Lock, versioning, replication, and erasure coding. Catalogic DPX adds a separate backup copy on DPX vStor, reading Swarm buckets through Swarm’s own S3 API with S3 object storage backup.

That copy gives you a recovery point that stands apart from the primary data. It is the copy you restore from when the problem sits in the storage layer itself, such as a misconfigured lifecycle policy that removes objects. Accidental deletions and compromised credentials fall into the same category.
