Pure //Accelerate 2017: Photo Blog Reviews a Great Event
Last week was a good one in the annals of tech events. Pure //Accelerate set the bar for events that are high-impact and high-value, yet of a manageable size that wasn’t overwhelming. It was that rare event where you actually could get around to everything. And it was done with class and style.
For those who couldn’t make it, and for those that were there and want to re-visit, we’ve put together this Photo Blog that captures scenes from across the show. Thanks to photographer Brendan Simpson for taking the pics. His work and contact info can be found here.
Folks were heading into the venue on Monday, and many were sporting the backpacks given to attendees.
Keynotes were a big part of the show, and Pure made a lot of major announcements to very excited crowds.
The venue itself was quite unique: an old ship yard at Pier 70 in San Francisco, turned into an event venue. Pure did a great job combining stylish and modern décor with the almost steam-punk vibe of the building. The use of shipping crates for breakout sessions was quite unique.
Over at the Catalogic booth, we had a great time getting to meet Pure Storage customers, partners and employees. I don’t know how many demos we gave, but it was a lot! Our tech experts covered many use cases from data protection to Test-Dev to DevOps for critical applications that run on Pure Storage. And we had a lot of fun giving away remote-control cars during hourly raffles that never failed to draw a crowd.
We also handed out hundreds of our “No More Scripts” buttons, which could be seen everywhere.
And of course, if you’re giving out cars, you’re going to have winners! We had loads of them. Here are a few.
In addition to our booth activities, Catalogic folks were giving breakouts and speaking on The Cube. Here’s our own Sathya Sankaran sitting down with Vik Nagjee, CTO of Healthcare for Pure Storage. You can watch their interview here.
You can see that Sathya is very enthusiastic when it comes to talking about Pure, Catalogic and healthcare!
We also had a standing room only breakout session featuring Alex Infanzon of Pure Storage and our own Prashant Jaganathan.
And I have to mention the food. Rather than the usual slops you get fed at tech conferences, Pure had the brilliant idea of bringing in food trucks to offer up a wealth of tasty options. And we all got to eat outside in the beautiful weather.
And of course, we have to mention the entertainment: Snoop Dogg and his band!
And that about wraps it up. Hope you enjoyed this photo retrospective of Pure Accelerate. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for us next year!
