What’s New in DPX 4.14

Catalogic DPX 4.14 introduces significant improvements that simplify long-term data protection and modernize day-to-day operations—especially for tape-heavy and hybrid environments—while strengthening security and improving automation.

Highlights of this version:

  • Simplified Tape Management

New web-based tape library management in the DPX web UI: create/manage SAN and non-SAN libraries, configure devices, manage media pools with capacity reporting, and run bulk tape operations without CLI dependency.

  • Automated Event Cleanup

Built-in automatic cleanup prunes old events (default retention: 365 days) to prevent database bloat and performance issues in large environments.

  • Unified Reporting for Hybrid Environments

Reports such as RPO Compliance and Unprotected Nodes now include Amazon S3 resources alongside on-prem data for full hybrid visibility.

  • Smarter Job Scheduling and Management

Enhanced Schedule Overview consolidates Hyper-V, VMware, physical server, and S3 jobs into one view, plus job folder filtering to quickly find and manage job definitions at scale.

  • Security and Integration Improvements

Web UI now enforces HTTPS by default (auto-redirect), and DPX adds an aggregated OpenAPI docs endpoint with interactive Swagger UI to speed up automation and integrations.

  • Modern Web UI and Usability Enhancements

Quality-of-life updates: sticky headers for virtual-scrolling tables, redesigned Reports page (single continuous view, no pagination), DPX version shown in the menu bar, and one-click copy for error details.
